On 14 September 2016, the hotel celebrated its 20th anniversary with pomp and splendour, where invited dignitaries, loyal customers, suppliers and long standing friends of the hotel, were treated to a 5-star entertaining show.

Datuk Nicol David has just been named by The Telegraph, a UK media, as one of the 20 greatest athletes in the world right now. She is grouped with other sport stars and heroes such as Simon Biles, Usain Bolt, Serena Williams, and Mo Farah. Hotel Equatorial teamed up with Datuk Nicol in May 2000, when she turned pro, and we are so proud to be a part of her journey. She was No. 7 in the world ranking for 2004, and made her way to the No. 1 spot from 2006 – 2014! We congratulate Datuk Nicol for this prestigious accolade and we look forward to welcoming more.

Hotel Equatorial Shanghai celebrated its 25th anniversary in grand style with honoured guests and friends in attendance on 5 June 2016.

To show its support for the noble Earth Hour campaign, the team at Equatorial will light up the hotel with just candles from 8.30pm – 9.30pm on Saturday, 28 March 2015.
